In the pool, there is little style. Bathing suit, cap, goggles, sandals, but they can all easily deceive. To have seen your fellow swimmer from a lane or two, to have seen the body moving through space, lit as in an exhibition, to have sensed that tensile strength, is, sometimes, to feel deluded, when the figure is seen draped in its costume for ice or sun.
