Spore

Out of the hand-assembled 'zine tradition comes the second issue of Spore (the first issue of which was called Score). Although assembled with the help of a word processor, Spore utilizes collage, scans of visual art, color inserts of visual poetry, and a hand-glued image over the front cover to modernize the 'zine scene with literary and art selections that honor the anarchistic tendancies of the do-it-yourself small press scene. Edited by Crag Hill of Idaho and featuring many recognized names, it can still be seen as an homage to the outsider spirit, here to corrupt America's youth with the Moscow Menace. --JP
