Bill Berkson ( USA)
born 1939 in New York, is a poet, art critic and professor of
Liberal Arts at the San Francisco Art Institute. His books of
poetry include Saturday Night, Shining Leaves,
Recent Visitors, Enigma Variations (with drawings
by Phillip Guston), Lush Life, Serenade, Young
Manhattan (with Anne Waldman) and, forthcoming from Zoland
Books, Fugue State. From 1971 to 1978 he edited and published
Big Sky magazine and books. He is a corresponding editor
for Art in America, and a frequent contributor to Modern
Painters, American Craft, Art on Paper, and
other magazines.
