Eric Drooker

Eric Drooker was born in New York City in 1958 and continues to live on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

His paintings and drawings appear regularly in such publications as The New York Times, Newsweek, Spin and The New Yorker, as well as in art galleries.

His first book, FLOOD! A Novel in Pictures (Four Walls Eight Windows) won the American Book Award in 1994 and was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Writing in The New York Times Book Review, Art Spiegelman called FLOOD! "a complex, dream charged vision...of a soulless civilization headed toward the apocalypse. It's a poetic and lyrical novel—told virtually without words...Drooker has discovered the magic of pulling light and life out of an inky sea of darkness."
