Andie Carpenter was born in 1973 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The youngest of seven, she grew up in New York, Connecticut and Dallas, and is presently finishing a degree in Maryland. While her primary interest lies with poetry, she has had work in a group display at the Dallas Museum of Art and was awarded a 1990 Dallas Shining Star award for her work in theatre and costuming. Her poetry has appeared in numerous publications, including Bust, Pinched Nerves, Lazer, Aldebaran, Angelflesh, Freedom Isn't Free, The Brownstone Review and The Farmington Valley Herald. She has read at many venues throughout New York, Denver and Dallas. Her work has also been published in several online magazines, including Sparks: A Literary 'Zine, The Part-Time Postmodernist and RealPoetik. She is a 1998 Sparrowgrass Poetry Competition winner.
