A Tale About an Experiment
Levente Kiràly

on the hill top a horse's been tied to a tree
if it nods two times you can untie it
and watch it run in the sky
if it nods once don't untie it
because it'll follow you till eternity
one time you won't be careful
and will fall asleep on the ground
behind the hill a dog's been tied up
if it sniffs your hand you can untie it
and follow it where it runs
if it barks don't untie it
because it'll be your servant till eternity
one time you won't be careful
and will fall asleep while your fingers bleed
the road among the buildings will lead you to a square
in the midst of it chains droop in the dust
you wait for someone to appear
you wait sitting three days in the dust
on the third night you tie the chain around your neck
and throw the key far away
and you already know
that with the first sun rays the people will be back
by then you'll know
to whom to nod twice
whose hands you can sniff
and you'll know
who you will
take to the house
