These paintings form part of a larger body of small works that I made in 2006-2008 in Brooklyn, where I landed after Hurricane Katrina had displaced me from New Olreans. Bedford-Stuyvesant, around the C-Train stop at Franklin + Fulton Avenues, kept my heart, eye + hand moving with a spirit of life close to the timbre and human vibration of the Crescent City, still healing. . .
